Consumer research conducted by Synovate in late 2006 showed that consumers overwhelming have preference for ingredients that were non trans fats.  They presented consumers with three options for a serving of fried chicken strips and french fries made with different oils:

• Restaurant 1 had 12 g saturated fats and 19 g trans fat
• Restaurant 2 had 18 g saturated fats and 0 g trans fat
• Restaurant 3 had 19 g saturated fat and 3 g trans fat

The results found that most frequently consumers selected Restaurant 2 over the other options for the reason that it clearly stated on the menu that there were 0 grams of trans fats.  You can download the full study on right.
