IOI Loders Croklaan’s Traceability Report 2013-2014

In 2012 we started mapping our entire palm oil supply chain and set a traceability baseline of 74% traced palm oil. In this second traceability report we are proud to report that we have exceeded our target of 90% traced oil (mill level). In the final quarter of the financial year (Apr-May-Jun 2014), 95% of the volumes sourced could be traced to mill level (IOI Loders Croklaan global).

Global Partnership for IOI Loders Croklaan and Unilever

Unilever and IOI Loders Croklaan have signed a global partnership. The partnership is designed to drive efficiencies, increase capacity and quality of specialty oils and fats as well as commodity oils. At the heart of the partnership is the shared responsibility of accelerating sustainable market transformation for Palm Oil. The partnership was signed at Unilever’s Partner to Win Summit in Wembley, London (UK).

Saturated Fat Hypothesis: Fact or Fiction

In the 1950’s nutrition scientists proposed that a growing epidemic of heart disease in the USA was related to a high intake of dietary fat (in particular saturated fat). By the 1970’s, elevated levels of components of blood serum called “total cholesterol” and “LDL cholesterol” were found to be linked with increased risk of heart disease.
